Stunning teak interior! Her current owners have lavished incredible care in renovating A Vida Boa by adding new systems and electronics and a renewed interior with a very tasteful decor. Sleeps (6) in (3) staterooms. Both guest staterooms are set forward in vessel and are accessed from the pilothouse. The master is privately accessed from the salon. Updated U-shaped galley is up with plenty of entertaining space in salon. In the last 8 years of ownership, just about everything has been upgraded, repaired or replaced.

Master Stateroom
Beautiful spiral shaped teak staircase leads to private master stateroom and stand-up engine room access from aft rear of salon. Island queen berth ample hanging locker space to port and stbd. His and hers built in nightstands. A wonderful settee and vanity finish off this well appointed stateroom. Forward is ensuite access to head with very large stall shower.  Engine room is accessed forward of master stateroom at base of stairs.

Guest Staterooms
Both are separate from master. Midship guest stateroom features an island queen, plenty of storage space, a built in vanity with stool, and ensuite access to head. Again, a large stall shower in head.

Forward stateroom offers a V-berth with filler cushion, another vanity with stool, great storage, a third privately accessed head also with an oversized stall shower.

Even with great walk around side deck space, this 53 Defever has a salon that will surprise anyone with its size. Very well appointed and laid out. Three comfortable bar stools with foot rests and full view of galley. Large dining table aft to port with L shaped settee and two dinning chairs. Two armchairs forward to stbd. Sliding salon windows with curtains allow this vessel to open up nicely. Wonderful headroom!

Lower Helm/Pilot House
Wide open helm with commanding view. Helm is separated from the rest of the vessel by a bulkhead forward of the galley. Steps up to bridge and down to forward cabins are here. Bench captains seat and plenty of storage. All ships panels are located here. Electronics overhead and at helm. Side decks are accessed port and stbd through sliding pocket pilothouse doors.

Very large flybridge accessed from pilothouse or also from hatch over aft deck. Plenty of seating and plenty of open space for entertaining. Helm area is covered by a bimini top, supported and attached to radar arch. Helm also provides ample seating and great visibility. Wide covered sidedecks are wonderful for moving about fore and aft.

Engine Room
The full height stand-up engine room is located below the main saloon and is primarily accessed through the door in the forward end of the master stateroom.  Additional access is through two large hatches in the main saloon floor – it is extremely well layed out and easy to move around in. You have convenient access to the working parts of the main engines and all other important machinery. Nearly all the yacht systems, (engines, generators, inverters, batteries and chargers, watermaker, etc.) are conviently located here. Very well lit, clean, bright and completely soundproofed. There is also a full mechanics tool chest on the work table.
The twin Caterpillars have 2200 original hours on them. The 15 KW and the 4 KW Onan generators are outboard as is the Village Marine Tech watermaker. As you can see in the photos all of the systems are logically installed and easily accessible.

A Vida Boa has undergone the most complete refit in the last seven years of any 53′ DeFever POC in existence. Her current owners oversaw and contributed with their own labor and skills well above the over $350,000+  spent for new equipment, cabinetry, bow thruster, inverter system, electronics, batteries, appliances, etc.   Two three ring binders full of the complete maintenance records, receipts and work orders for the major refit and going back to 1997. Plus 4 file boxes full of owners manuals for all equipment on board, are available for review. As a live-aboard or cruising yacht, A Vida Boa should be your first choice.
