The Legend 37 is a great boat, a midsize racer-cruiser that is the best of both worlds. They are fast and have great lines, and with the wide beam they are stable. The big main makes sail handling easy. The systems are simple and easy to maintain.
The 37 doesn't look like a cruising boat despite its many amenities belowdecks. The sleek, uncluttered foredeck, reverse transom and a nearly 60-foot-tall mast combine to give this sloop a sleek profile. The cockpit with pedestal steering and large destroyer wheel is roomy enough for six.
Naval Architect and SAILING Magazine's Technical Editor Robert Perry noted in his review that the 37 has the appearance of a high-performance boat, with a nod to Swan for introducing yachts with lowered coachroofs that seamlessly blend into the foredeck. Aboard the Hunter Legend 37, this attention to detail helps reduce the visual impact of its substantial freeboard.
The Legend 37 is both racer and cruiser in the truest sense of that sailing hybrid, capable of winning in club competition or providing luxury and comfort on a weeklong cruise. Its racer profile will turn heads while its belowdecks accommodations are likely to encourage friends less interested in competition to stay aboard a bit longer. This boat is equally at home in both worlds.

"Peregrine" has been refit for the specific purpose of cruising around the Sea of Cortez with an emphasis on comfort. A major part of the refit was focused around the electrical system, to provide enough power to bring civility to the untamed frontier. With the 640 watt solar panels and the 300ah LiFePO4 batteries, the boat can sustain herself and her crew for extended periods at anchor. Even in the deep of winter, she can run the watermaker and then heat it to provide hot showers and freeze it for icy cocktails. The house and start battery banks are controlled automatically, based on voltage, which means that the crew never has to remember or even think about joining or separating banks for charging or discharging procedures.
When the strong Baja Northers blow, the double reefed mainsail and furling headsails allow the crew to sail safely to the next anchorage to drop the 20kg Rocna anchor, which has never failed. And when the strong winds subside, this racer/cruiser can shake her reefs and offer a spirited sailing experience in light winds.
The Cockpit has all major lines led aft, under the dodger, which allow for safe and comforrtable management even while single-handed. The large helm wheel can be easily removed, once at anchor, to allow for easy access to the transom swimstep. Or, if you prefer, the solar arch provides an excellent diving platform! When the sun has set, the cockpit is lit entirely by integrated solar charged lights, separate from the ship's battery bank. The masthead tricolor anchor light combo is controlled by a light sensitive switch, which automatically turns it off at dawn and back on at dusk. Cabin lights offer dimming and red light capabilities for overnight passages or just creating a mood to match the bluetooth Fusion stereo controlling six speakers across two zones.

Belowdecks, the decklite panels brighten up the saloon and galley during the day. The centerline table folds out both ways for a large work/play/dining space. There is a range of storage options under and behind the surrounding setees as well as the cabinets and shelves located above with a dedicated charging station for 120v AC and 12v DC electronics. The port setee is equipped with a lee cloth for safe sleep on passages.
The V Berth sleeps two and has its own vanity sink to starboard, a hanging locker to port and storage cubbies forward, connected by shelves on both sides. The V Berth door allows the space to be closed off from the rest of the boat, providing privacy and comfort for guests.
The Aft Cabin offers a very comfortable full Casper mattress and three portlights for added ventilation and light. For storage there are two hanging lockers and six cubbies as well as ""the garage"", a large, watertight storage space aft of the berth.
The Head utilizes an automatic macerator flush toilet, plumbed to the hot/cold sink, saving water usage by utilizing hand-washing gray water instead of freshwater. This system can also be switched to utilize raw water to further save on freshwater. The shower head removes from the sink cabinet, revealing the hot/cold mixer, and attaches to the ceiling, providing a rain-style shower with a bench that folds down atop the toilet.
The L-Shaped Galley wraps around the engine compartment making it safe to use when underway. The oversized stainless steel sink and faucet with detachable spray head are great for washing all sorts of large objects including dishes and even includes an integrated drying rack and cutting board to maximize counter space.
The watermaker has been integrated throughout the Galley and Saloon, taking up a minimal amount of space and includes an automatic rinsing timer, to maintain the filters when not in use.
